I just spent a day with Steve, he gave a clinic here this past wednesday and what an experience, not only is he one of todays greatest drummers, he's also a great human being as well. I certainly learnt a lot from him even just from hangin' and talking to him.

Those were quite cool...I especially like the 1st and 4th clips where he is playing quite aggressively...that one independence clip (clip 2) is pretty cool aswell (He does the same sort of thing on his DVD)...watching his left hand go nonstop in that clip is awesome...and the interviews were enjoyable aswell...very cool

Dazz,
Here's what you can try with MS-Windows. These Vic Firth Files get saved on your Hard Drive. Don't know on MAC systems but on Windows, you can access these Files in your Temporary Internet Files Folder. These *.MOV Files can be copied from that Folder to anywhere else you want on your Hard Drive. Depending on what version of Windows Explorer you have. Go to TOOLS, Internet Options, in the Temporary Internet Files Section go to Settings, then View Objects, you should be able to see it there, as I did. Or directly go to that Folder using Windows Explorer.
Hope that helps...

I JUST got through reading a review of a Smith clinic in another forum. The "guy" trashed Steve. I'm amazed at how a drummer (this guy's not a kid) can be so self-absorbed to miss what this man can offer. There's that hugely unattractive part of people that comes out after viewing a drum clinic by cats that have spent more time in thier garages than their cars!
Steve doesn't make me feel music like other drummers...who cares! The guy is a drum freak with skills abounding beyond.

On that 1st clip, how does he get his hihats to swash side to side like that????
Clip 3 made me laugh out loud! Talk about understanding the balance point of your sticks! Geez, that's just rediculous!

To get the HH like that you have to have them very loose...then you just have to splash them together, but smith says in his dvd that most of the time you have to hit them with your stick or your hand, and that'll get 'em moving like that....but you have to play it trying to get a splash from the HH, not your normal tight "chick" sound

Is there any way you can save these clips to your hard drive? When I right click on the links, it won't allow me to do anything.
Cheers.
